Mona Farm Wedding

Mona Farm has forever been my ‘white whale’ venue: somewhere I’ve wanted to explore and photograph, but for some reason never had the chance. Early this year I documented Kate and Drew’s wedding at this beautiful location, and now I’m proud to share this Mona Farm wedding with you. 

Kate + Drew’s gorgeous Mona Farm Wedding

Mona Farm is around a two hour drive from my place. Far enough away that it feels like a nice adventure getting there, but not too far that I need to stay the night. I was home and in my own bed by midnight. On arrival, I was amazed at the size of the place. You can enter from both sides – it seems to occupy a huge farm in between two roads. Everywhere I looked there were wonderful photo locations. I could tell immediately that my only problem that day would be choice paralysis as to where I take Kate and Drew for photos 😬

Here’s how the day went

Kate and Drew both got ready on-site at two of the venue’s cottages. Their ceremony was held on gorgeous lawn surrounded by trees and flowers. All around us were cool things to see: highland cows with their shaggy fur and horns, old stables covered in ivy. Being a black-tie wedding, the guests all looked wonderful against this farm backdrop. 

We then spent an hour or so walking the grounds and taking some portraits. We went to a wonderful forest, an old bridge, some crumbling stone walls, a tennis court, and an old stables – all on the grounds. I was in photographer-heaven. 

Mona Farm Wedding Reception

Kate and Drew’s Mona Farm wedding reception was in a lovely clear-roofed marquee. I love that this marquee is really spacious and didn’t feel too tight or restricted. We ducked out to go and feed the highland cows 🐄
