Highball House Bundanoon Wedding
I’ve been visiting Bundanoon since I was a kid growing up in the Highlands (mainly to attend the Brigadoon Scottish festival) and have driven past Highball House many times. But until recently i’d never had a chance to shoot a wedding here. This finally changed in early 2024 when I shot Belle and Sean’s Highball House Bundanoon wedding, and what a fabulous afternoon it was.
A relaxed Highball House Bundanoon wedding
I would say that the majority of couples book me for either 6 or 8 hours coverage for their wedding day. But I’ll often shoot for far less that that – sometimes just a few hours. Some couples aren’t interested in ‘getting ready’ photos, or don’t feel they need the reception covered into the evening. This is totally fine with me! For this Highball House Bundanoon wedding I photographed 3 hours of coverage. So, from just before the ceremony until the start of the reception.
This means that for Sean and Belle, I covered the ceremony, hugging + mingling and some group photos, and an hour or so of portraits. Honestly, I can see why some couples don’t need the entire day covered. Maybe you have just a handful of guests, maybe you aren’t into having someone shadow you for hours – I totally get it. If you’re wondering what 3 hours of photography coverage might get you, this blog post should help.
After the ceremony, and after we’d had a drink and some snacks, I drove Belle and Sean out to the Moreton National Park. There’s a particular lookout I know which is pretty spectacular, and isn’t completely fenced off (and isn’t dangerous!) This means you can quite close to the edge, in a very safe manner! Here you can get some beautiful photos with the valley in the background. This was only a ten minute drive from Highball House which was wonderful.
Belle and Sean – thanks for having me along to document your Highball House Bundanoon wedding!
