Canowindra Wedding | Danni + Josh’s Country Wedding

I remember sitting in a cafe with Danni and Josh after they first booked me to shoot their Canowindra wedding. They were trying to explain to me how the wedding would play out. They’d chosen the date of their wedding partly because that would be when the canola was flowering. I’d never been to Canowindra, nor had I ever seen a field of canola in flower, but they made it all sound pretty incredible.

Fast forward to September 2018. I was on my way out to Canowindra on the wedding day. I started seeing small areas of yellow in the paddocks around me; these gave way to huge fields completely full, fence to fence, of yellow flowers. It was incredible.

An amazing Canowindra wedding

Danni and Josh held their Canowindra wedding at their property, just outside of town – a gorgeous arbour for the ceremony location, and a marquee for the reception. After the ceremony we piled into a couple of cars and headed straight for the canola.

I’d never plowed through a field of canola before, so I didn’t realise I’d come out the other side completely yellow… my shoes, pants, shirt, and both cameras were yellow. We spent some time shooting portraits in this xanthous wonderland, and then headed back to the marquee for their Canowindra wedding reception.
