Aghadoe Estate Wedding | Sarah + Lachlan

The car was packed, and Michelle and I hit the road: a 9 our drive to Daylesford, which was to be our base for a few days while we scouted, prepared and then photographed this wonderful Aghadoe Estate wedding. Full story below.

I met Sarah + Lachlan a few years back; they were guests at a wedding I photographed in a tiny Victorian town called Metung. In fact, Sarah was the florist at that wedding. We chatted briefly as I admired her wonderful florals, then I ended up taking some sneaky candid shots of her and Lachlan later in the day. When Sarah eventually got engaged and sent me an enquiry, she sent along one of those images so I could remember who they were, and I was stoked that I’d get to hang out with them again at their Aghadoe Estate wedding.

A few more details about this Aghadoe Estate wedding

I loved this Aghadoe Estate wedding for many reasons. Sarah, Lachlan and their families were wonderfully welcoming – we felt at home the entire day, start to finish. The venue itself is pretty awesome; it’s a farm that you can turn into whatever you want for your wedding. There are various old sheds, interesting buildings and structures, long driveways and forests to play in. There’s also a huge open field with a bunch of awesome Highland cows – you know, those big shaggy ones you see in Scotland and Iceland with the big curving horns (scroll down to see). Don’t worry, they’re very friendly.

We stayed until the end of the night – me shooting photos, and Michelle shooting video. If you scroll right to the bottom you’ll see Michelle’s highlight video of this Aghadoe Estate wedding which turned out so well.

I’d really like to visit this wonderful venue again – I’m sure there are so many more little areas to explore that we didn’t even touch on. If you’re planning an Aghadoe Estate wedding and are looking for a photographer, I’d love to hear from you.
