Gloster House Wedding Ireland

Amy and Colum’s Gloster House wedding was the 10th wedding of my UK/Euro 2019 trip, and it was a cracker. I’m finally getting around to blogging the weddings from my trip, and I’m super excited to share this one with you!
From 2021 onwards, Michelle and I will be based in the UK for 5 months every year, from May until October. So if you’re getting married during these months at Gloster House, or anywhere in Ireland or the UK/Europe, we are super keen to be involved. Amy and Colum’s Gloster House wedding
First, let’s discuss this incredible venue. Gloster House is in County Offaly, which is in the Irish Midlands near the town of Birr. What amazes me about Ireland is that, as you drive around the nice quiet roads, you could be passing old manor houses like this without having any idea they exist. Indeed as Michelle and I drove up the driveway towards Gloster House, the extent of the property wasn’t even obvious until we were almost upon it. I can’t even believe that places like this exist and are privately owned, let alone available for weddings.
When you have a Gloster House wedding, you have the entire place to yourself. So, you get ready in one of those rooms. The ceremony is generally outside, but you can have it inside if the weather isn’t great. There are a million different places for photos on the grounds, which are large but easy to navigate. And your reception is on site in the main building. So you don’t have to go offsite at all, which is amazing for wedding stress levels.
It’s also wonderful that at Gloster House there is a great indoor and outdoor ceremony option, just in the case the weather in your favour on the day.
Amy + Colum’s Gloster House wedding
As is the case with many of my weddings, I only met Amy and Colum on the morning of the big day itself. I really don’t mind this at all. I’m pretty personable and I reckon I can get the best out of a couple even if I meet them on the day of the wedding. The rain was threatening, so the ceremony ended up being indoors (which was still lovely). Amy and Colum were wonderful to shoot, and made me feel at home with their bridal party, family and friends. My wife Michelle was with my during this wedding, and she made a wonderful wedding film. If you scroll to the bottom of my photos, you can watch her film.
