Circa 1876 The Convent Wedding

The Hunter Valley is one of those regions where, it seems, around every corner is a new venue you haven’t seen yet. Drive one more block, turn one more corner, and you’ll find a spot you didn’t know existed. In this case, quite central to the area, if you make your way down a small lane through a stand of trees, and over a bridge, you’ll find yourself here – where this wonderful Circa 1876 The Convent wedding was held.

An awesome Circa 1876 The Convent wedding

These are actually two different venues: Circa 1876 is an epic restaurant and function centre, and just down the road is The Convent, a wonderful boutique hotel. They’re literally a 2 minute walk from each other and are on the same grounds. Most weddings I’ve shot at Circa, my couples have had hair/makeup done and prepared for the wedding at The Convent. That’s because this is the most logical choice and very easy to access from the venue.

Tracy + Clint

This Circa 1876 The Convent wedding below tells the story of Tracy, a Canadian, and Clint, an Aussie. These guys, their families and friends were wonderfully welcome to me. I felt like I was among friends. I’m especially used to the Canadian accent as my wife is from Ottawa 🙂

This was also the first time I worked with the guys from Wild Feathers Creative. Their work is awesome! You can see their film from this Circa 1876 The Convent wedding at the bottom of my blog post.

If you’re planning a wedding at Circa 1876 and are looking for a photographer, I’d love to shoot at this wonderful venue again, and I’d love to hear from you! I’ve shot lots of weddings in the Hunter Valley and I know the area quite well. Here’s a Bistro Molines wedding I photographed in 2016.
