I really enjoyed this Montrose Berry Farm Wedding, despite the 4 seasons in 1 day we experienced: a hot morning, then dark clouds and a freak hail storm. Then as we arrived at Montrose Berry Farm for the wedding, clear skies and warmth. Montrose in autumn is pretty incredible place for a wedding – a carpet of golden leaves, gorgeous sunsets, and a reception warmed by a cozy open fire.
An awesome Montrose Berry Farm wedding
Montrose is a pretty awesome venue, and I absolutely loved shooting this Montrose Berry Farm wedding. It’s a working berry farm – you can buy their delicious jams 🙂 It’s around 30 minutes out of Bowral, in a little town called Sutton Forest. A lovely homestead, a wonderful old converted barn, and acres of fruit trees and greenery.
The morning of this Montrose Berry Farm wedding was absolutely crazy. When I arrived to shoot the girls getting ready, the sky was blue and there were no clouds to be seen. As I was leaving the girls to head to the ceremony, huge black clouds came from nowhere and it started to hail huge big chunks of ice. I had to wait inside the house until the hail stopped just to get out to my car. Stress levels at this point were somewhat elevated (for obvious reasons), but by the time I arrived at the ceremony the hail had stopped and the skies were clearing again. Insane weather! By later in the evening the skies were blue again and as the sun set we had some lovely soft light for our portraits.
I really enjoyed this wonderful autumn Montrose Berry Farm wedding. Thanks so much Nat and Russell for having me along – you guys are awesome.
