Whenever I see an email come into my inbox saying something along the lines of ‘we’re having a Cupitt’s Winery Wedding’, I get pretty damn excited. I’ve pretty much renamed this venue ‘Oh Holy Sunset Spot’. Every single time I shoot a wedding here, even on a foggy, rainy day, the sky clears around 30 minutes before the sun is set to drop, and the guests and I are given the most incredible golden light show. There must just be something about this area that makes the sunsets look more insane than usual.
My first Cupitt’s Winery Ulladulla wedding
Say hi to Rachel and Craig. These guys were in fact my first Cupitt’s Winery wedding, and i’ve since shot several others since then – here’s the most recent – click here for Jacki + Pav’s Cupitt’s wedding. Rachel and the girls had their hair + makeup done in an incredible clifftop house near the venue. We spent the morning gazing at the ocean and watching the kookaburras in the trees, drinking champagne (yep, I had a few glasses), and shooting a few frames here and there. Then I moved over to the boys.
Also spending the day with us was the man himself, Tom Coburn – videographer. I love hanging out with Tom on a wedding day (although the name thing can get kinda confusing). It feels just like we’re at the pub having a yarn, rather than shooting a wedding. You can see his video from this Cupitt’s Winery wedding at the bottom of this blog post.
After the ceremony we spent some time on the property; hung out in the old sheds, made our way to a huge old forest of tall trees, and then of course made some time for one of Cupitt’s epic sunsets which didn’t fail to deliver. I then shot a bunch of frames of these lovely people partying into the night.
I hope you enjoy this blog post, and if you’re thinking of having your wedding at Cupitt’s Winery, and you’re looking for a photographer, I’d love to hear from you 🙂
